Equinox

This piece is a visual representation of the equal parts of light and dark, day and night.

The vibrant, gradient background shows the stark contrast between the two, but when the two sides collide, they blend and become more neutral. This neutrality represents a moment of stillness and the symbiotic relationship they have with one another; yin and yang. 

The spiral helix that is created by the sun and moon intertwining, is a statement of finding balance between the two. They do not combine, but they do come together to create the balanced ecosystem we live in physically and spiritually. By having the sun and moon facing each other with warmth and kindness, it allows both parts to recognize and respect the other. 

Furthermore, by orienting the piece horizontally, an additional symbolic component arises; a sunset ocean landscape. This visual further ties the moon to the cool ocean and the sun to the warm atmosphere.
